Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is a holistic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. Created by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross of the TCU Institute of Child Development, TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. TBRI is based on years of attachment, trauma, and neuroscience research, but the intervention has grown out of hands-on work with children who have experience trauma. Jerry has a desire to help families, bridge the gap that may have been created by behavioral issues related to adoption or foster care. Jerry and his family have been blessed to have adopted internationally and understand the joys and challenges that families experience as they open their hearts and homes to these special children.
