Leah is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in North Carolina. She received a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University. She has experience working with individuals, families, and couples and offers a collaborative approach pulling from Narrative, Experiential, and other systemic therapies. She understands that each person that walks through her door has a unique story to tell. Her goal is to join each person where they are and provide them with tools that can facilitate healing and wholeness. When working with couples, she utilizes Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Both evidence-based models allow couples to work through challenging issues such as affair discovery and repair, communication conflicts, and other areas of discord, through the lens of attachment theory, emotional awareness, effective and constructive communication, and conflict management.
She also enjoys working with local pastors and churches. to provide consultation and group sessions for their church congregation (Marital, premarital, grief, etc.).
Christian Counseling:
Leah believes a person’s faith and spirituality is an important factor to consider when meeting with clients. She understands that this is often the place where people pull their hope from, and hope is crucial when it comes to healing and moving forward. She recognizes that our experiences in life can impact our faith in both a positive and negative way. Therefore, it is her desire to create a safe environment for her clients to work through the hard and uncomfortable questions that they may have after undergoing difficult circumstances.
